On this year's Space Day, our office opened its doors to visitors to offer an exciting insight into the fascinating world of space travel and fluid mechanics. The guests watched a specially produced film with great interest, which presented our daily work in a clear and understandable way.
The interactive experiments on fluid mechanics were a particular highlight. The visitors were able to experience first-hand how flows behave and which physical effects play an important role in the construction of flight vehicles (see video below).
A specially developed computer game, in which the participants were able to demonstrate their skills in a simulated moon landing, also generated a great deal of enthusiasm. The realistic simulation offered both challenges and entertainment and taught the basic principles of space technology in a fun way. The game is available as open-source via GitHub.
We are delighted with the great response and the interest in our work and would like to thank all visitors for this successful Space Day 2025!
